Overwhelm

Sometimes our feeling of OVERWHELM come from ourselves ---we block letting ideas and inspirations come to us because we think life has to be hard.
  
Let’s see if we can let ourselves off the hook a bit.
  
KC: Even though I am overwhelmed –I’m really working hard and I’m proud of how hard I work--–I accept who I am and would love to let that stubborn part of myself go
KC: Even though I’m proud of how hard I work and independent I am---I sure would like to let part of “I’ll do it myself” attitude go

KC: Even though I’m overwhelmed and I can’t even think straight --- I want to open myself to the idea of allowing new ideas, inspirations and support to come to me—I want that new attitude and accept that I’m ready to change

EB: I work really hard
SE:  and I’m really proud of that
UE: and I sometimes it’s too overwhelming

UN: sometimes I’m just too independent
CH: It’s just too much sometimes

CB:  I’d actually love it to be easier
UA: I am open to it being easier
TH: I’m open to new ideas coming to me

  
EB: Inspirations that make my life easier
SE: People and resources that support my life
UE: I wonder what could show up for me
UN: I’m open to ideas and inspirations showing up from all sorts of places and people
CH: I’m open to brilliant ideas
CB: easy and effortless solutions
UA: inspired thinking
TH: just popping into my mind

  
EB: I give my body permission to remove my unwanted mental block
SE: to allowing new ideas and inspirations
UE: magically occurring to me
UN: I love it when I’m inspired and creative
CH: I love when I step out of my own way
CB: What if I allow it to be easy
UA: I’m allowing this to be easy and elegant
TH: I’m allowing ideas and inspiration to flow to me

Sometimes our bodies just want permission to let it be easy.  It really is okay to let the blocks go.  Notice if you get any glimmers of ideas or if your energy is different.

Creative and Special

Have you ever not felt creative or special---that you have nothing to offer?  This time of year can bring up lots of old beliefs and feelings.   

Let’s see what we can diffuse.  

KC: Even though I don’t feel very creative.  I honor my frustration.
KC: Even though I don’t feel I make a difference.  I accept how I feel anyway.
KC: Even though I don’t feel special.  I honor and accept myself anyway.

EB: Not a creative idea in my head
SE: I’m not special
UE: I don’t make a difference

UN: Who cares about what I think
CH: No one ever thought I was special
CB: I believed “them”
UA: “They don’t know my heart
TH: How deeply I feel
  
EB: The lessons my journey has taught me
SE: I have a unique perspective
UE: Someone might resonate with my perspective

UN: Someone’s painful journey might be eased
CH: Me a role model?
CB: Maybe
UA: I have learned to forgive myself
TH: It wasn’t easy
  
EB: I learned my lessons atypically
SE: I am unique
UE: I am special in the best way

UN: I am getting stronger everyday
CH: “They” might be wrong
CB: “They” were “then” and “this is now”
UA: I am strong, wise and special
TH: I am Me, I am Creative, and have the right perspective to share

CB: Look at how I created this healing experience.  I can be whatever I want to be--- now that’s creative.

Pressure

Often we are pressured to buy things we can’t afford from the media, friends, and family--- marketing can make us feel inadequate in many ways.
  
Let’s tap on a bit of reality.
  
KC: Even though there is all this pressure to buy “this” and “that.”  I accept the pressure of the hype and how I feel about it.
KC: Even though I can’t afford all the “things” my beloveds want.  I accept and honor my feelings about all this.
KC: Even though I feel financially strapped.  I am willing to see how rich I really am in love’s arms.

EB: All this commercial pressure
SE: I can’t afford it all
UE: My beloveds will be disappointed

UN: if I don’t buy everything on their lists
CH: All these pesky decisions
CB: Not enough money
UA: I don’t want to disappoint anyone
TH: All this pressure from every side
  
EB: I don’t like this feeling
SE: I don’t like the pressure
UE: I just want to keep it simple

UN: I want my beloveds to like what I can afford
CH: Maybe they are strapped for money
CB: I don’t HAVE to buy into the marketing hype
UA: I can buy what makes sense
TH: Maybe I could make something
  
EB: Maybe I can write them notes and tell them how much I love them
SE: Remembering that it’s about love
UE: Asking myself: “what would love do?”

UN: Love would be  gentle and accepting
CH: Love is expansive in feelings
CB: Love is warm and cozy
UA: Love is a safe and luxurious feeling
TH: I can purchase something for them via the guidance of my heart instead of the hype

SP:   Purchasing from my heart--- value, love, and a note of appreciation and gratitude.

CH: I am nurturing
CB: I am doing the best I can
UA: I am learning to love myself more and more each day
TH: I am more tolerant of the things I can not change
  
EB: I am growing in wisdom
SE: I am more security in my life than ever before
UE: I am growing in self-esteem

UN: I am learning to express myself
CH: I am allowing new experiences for myself
CB: I am recognizing the greatness in others as I do in myself
UA: I am courageous
TH: I am willing to try new things
  
EB: I am willing to change what I can---ME
SE: I am in transition and
UE: I am not afraid

UN: I am shifting my perceptions
CH: I am adopting a new attitude
CB: I am surrounded by love
UA: I am surrounded by abundance---just look at nature—simple and lush and abundant
TH: I am in gratitude for all the things I have and all the things to come

Holiday pre-stress and overwhelm

The day before a holiday can stress/overwhelm us out in many ways.  Tapping helps calm us down and shift our perspective.
  
KC: Even though I have all these things to do for tomorrow---I know I won’t please everyone and I just have to acknowledge that.
KC: Even though I have
ALL
these other people to take care of tomorrow and once again I’ll come last on the list.  I accept all my feelings anyway.
KC: Even though there are people who are gone and I’ll miss them this holiday.  I honor their memory in my heart.

EB:
TOO
much to do
SE: I’ll never get it all done
UE: I swear if one person complains I’ll scream

UN: I want it to be perfect
CH: The sadness too—the loss of loved ones
CB: I hate holidays
UA: No I don’t
TH: Yes, I do
  
EB: I love the favorite dish I make
SE: I love to see their faces as they feast on all the goodies
UE: When others get stressed they get fussy so maybe it has nothing to do with me

UN: Maybe I can just send then a mental hug like I would to a cranky two year old
CH: Maybe I don’t have to be perfect
CB: Maybe this will be the best holiday ever
UA: I love all the food
TH: I love the hugs I’ll get
  
EB: I won’t be alone
SE: A lot of people are
UE: I’ll be with people and all their humanness--- flaws and all

UN: I bet I can spin the catastrophes into a funny story
CH: I can still back and observe
CB: I can look for the joyful moments and memories
UA: I can hold it in my heart
TH: I can’t wait for tomorrow
  
Breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth- ahhhh
  
SP: (the point over the heart)  Yep, just looking for all the positive moments.  Looking forward to loosing myself in all the preparations.  Looking forward to the smells and tastes of the holiday.  Ahhhh, letting it be magical for me---easy breezy.

The habit of Overwhelm

Sometimes part of our OVERWHELMED feelings stem from the habit of thing we always have to do everything alone.  

I find I can reduce the stress level but acknowledging this fact.  I can be pretty independent?!?!?  

KC: Even though I’m totally overwhelmed- It seems I’m always behind on what I need to do---it feels like I’ll never catch up--I honor and accept my feelings
KC: Even though I feel totally stressed—I have a list of things to get done by noon—I accept myself and all my feelings
KC: Even though I have to do it
ALL
myself and it’s pretty overwhelming and it seems to never end--- accept all my feelings

EB: I’m totally overwhelmed
SE: I’ll never get it done
UE: Too many things to do
UN: I can’t trust anyone to help me
CH: I always have to do it myself
CB: then I know it’s done right
UA: I feel the stress in my body
TH: I feel all this resistance  to asking for help

  
EB: I am so overwhelmed
SE: What if there was someone to help me
UE: That’s a sign of defeat
UN: They’ll judge me
CH: Wait---other people ask for help
CB: They ask for help and get help
UA: They might know of an easier way
TH: I could ask someone how they would do this

  
EB: I watch experts on TV and get tips all the time
SE: I don’t have to do it all myself
UE: I think I’ll ask for suggestions on one thing
UN: There is no one to ask
CH: I’ll get quiet for a minute and see what idea pops in my head
CB: taking a breathe, closing my eyes, and getting still
UA: Allowing an idea to come to me
TH: An idea on just one thing

  
Breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth- ahhhh
  
CB: Allowing myself to relax and letting the answer come to me—easily and effortlessly--- breathing and allowing the easy and elegant solution to pop into my head.
  
Breathe and see if you just have more energy now.  Sometimes that’s all we need to do is let out body relax for just a moment.

I find tapping on things as they arise helps reduce my overall stress level.  So let’s tap together on common issues.  It just might shift you a bit… 

Feeling Overwhelmed—sometimes you just don’t know where to start--- so I find accepting where I am a good place to begin.  See how you feel afterwards.

KC: Even though I have all these things to do and I don’t know where to start.  I accept all my feelings and myself.
KC: Even though I have a gazillion things to do and they are all important.  I accept how stressed I feel.
KC: Even though I don’t know where to start for whatever reason real or imagined.  I want to accept my feeling and know I’m okay anyway.

EB: All these things to do
SE: I don’t know where to being
UE: I’ll never get them all done

UN: I don’t know where to begin
CH: I don’t know where to start
CB: I can’t do it
UA: Yes, you can
TH: No, I can’t

EB: There’s TOO much to do
SE: What’s one thing I can do
UE: There are so many THINGS

UN: I can’t do it
CH: Yes, you can
CB: Pick one
UA: Anyone
TH: It doesn’t have to be perfect

EB: I give myself permission to just pick one thing to do
SE: I’ll feel better if I just start
UE: Focusing on just one thing

UN: Focusing on one thing might inspire me to do another thing on my list
CH: That’s happened before
CB: I can pick one thing
UA: I don’t have to be perfect
TH: I can do one thing

Breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth- ahhhh 

CB: Ahhh, that wasn’t so bad.  The blog is done.  It was easy and effortless---I think I can ease on into my day now- and so it is!

KC: Even though I tend to nick-pick myself and everything I do.  I deeply and profoundly accept myself as I am.

KC: Even though I tend to let other’s criticisms sting my soul.  I deeply and profoundly acknowledge my courage to forge ahead and follow my dream.

KC: Even though I judge myself too harshly.  I acknowledge and honor my humanness. 

EB: there might be typos
SE: Even spelling errors
UE: What will people think
UN: I’m just not perfect enough
CH: What if they don’t like me
CB: What if they all laugh at me
UA: What if they think I’m an idiot
TH: What if they are right

EB: I’ve been doing this for years
SE:  I can’t hide my gifts anymore
UE: I have to step out
UN: I AM so grateful for my gifts
CH: I want to help other’s shift as I have
CB: To feel happier and more accepting of themselves
UA: I Am so grateful to all the people I have helped
TH: I Am so grateful for all their encouragement

EB: Criticisms, judgments will just help me grow
SE: I can tap on what is true
UE: I can tap on what is not true
UN: I can be gentle with myself and forgive my short-comings
CH: I AM secure in my skills
CB: I AM grateful for my tools of recovery
UA: I AM Grateful for all the traumas that I’ve endured that led me to today
TH: One courageous woman stepping into her light
