Sometimes remembering a time when we did sleep easily helps us let go. 
Let’s borrow benefits and tap in some peaceful memories.

KC: Even though I’m stressed right now---I do remember times when I was able to let go and sleep deeply
KC: Even though it doesn’t seem possible---I choose to relax
KC: Even though I don’t think I can give myself permission to relax and let go---I have done so in the past and choose to relax this time

EB: I choose to relax like I have in the past
SE: I choose to remember how a peaceful night’s sleep feels
UE: Easy
UN: Simple
CH: Drifting off
CB: Soaring above my problems
UA: Picking them up in the morning
TH: Refreshed

EB: I am committed to loving myself
SE: Honoring my body
UE: I’ve done it often in the past
UN: I allow myself to drift off again
CH: Thank you body

Sometimes our obsessing about something keeps us from drifting off to sleep.  Let’s borrow benefits and tap some obsession off.

KC: Even though I can’t stop thinking---in fact I’m obsessing and it’s stressing me out more---I acknowledge this and choose to take a breathe and relax just for a second
KC: Even though I can’t turn my brain off---I acknowledge this and choose to take a deep breath and relax
KC: Even though I’m frantic and the breathing isn’t helping---I choose to see my obsessing as
melting away

EB: I wrote the problem down
SE:  I can pick it up tomorrow
UE: For now I focus on having a peaceful, healing night’s sleep
UN: I see myself floating above my problem
CH: Looking down and see it getting further away---just for now
CB: Seeing the problem shrink
UA: It felt bigger than me and
TH: Now I allow myself to get larger and larger

EB: Expanding larger and larger
SE: Feeling myself expand out into the universe
UE: Voyaging out in space
UN: Knowing I can drift among the stars
CH: Focusing on the quiet space
CB: Feeling my body get larger and larger

EB: Allowing my breathing to expand and deepen

Sometimes we can sleep because we can’t see “letting go” as taking care of ourselves.

KC: Even though I can’t stop obsessing over what I have to do tomorrow I admit I deserve to take care of myself
KC: Even though this fear seems overwhelming I want to take care of me and start letting the fear go
KC: Even though I can’t think of anything else---I deserve to focus on something peaceful

SE: I don’t know what to do
UE: I can’t get it out of my mind
UN: I won’t be able to sleep
CH: I can’t get it out of my mind
CB: This fear is HUGE
UA: I don’t feel in control
TH: I acknowledge this fear

EB: I honor how seriously I’m taking all this
SE: This is a big deal tomorrow
UE: I acknowledge I can’t stop obsessing
UN: I want some relief
CH: The fear will still be there if I want it

KC: Even though I’m afraid of speaking in public I choose to dream of dong it with calmness
KC: Even though I have this fear and I’m afraid it will keep me up all night---I choose to relax enough to get a good night’s sleep
KC: Even though I have this fear---I choose to sleep so I won’t be fighting fatigue

EB: I have this fear of public speaking
SE: I’m afraid I’ll make a mistake
UE: All this fear
UN: I can see it in my mind
CH: Clear as day
CB: All this fear
UA: I know I won’t be able to sleep
TH: I have to be perfect

EB: I’ll make a mistake
SE: They’ll make fun of me
UE: They’ll judge me
UN: All this fear
CH: All these “what if’s”
CB: How can I rest
UA: Maybe I can dream about doing it well
TH: Maybe as I drift off to sleep I can imagine doing it well

EB: Being relaxed and confident
SE: Choosing to let go and feeling confident in making the speech
UE: Centered
UN: Balanced
CH: Calm
CB: Connected to the part of me that does other things well
UA: Speaking from a calm and centered place
TH: Replacing worry with flowing confidence

Sometimes our unfinished “to do list” can keep us awake.  Let’s borrow benefits and tap some charge off.

KC: Even though I feel guilty I didn’t finish my “to do list” I acknowledge this and choose to stop beating myself up
KC: Even though I hate that I’m not super-woman I accept this and choose to let myself off the hook
KC: Even though I’m not perfect and left some things undone---I acknowledge my feelings
and choose to accept my imperfect self

EB: I didn’t get everything done
SE: I’m so stressed over it
UE: How can I relax
UN: I’ll only have more to do tomorrow
CH: All this stress
CB: I can’t stand all the things I have to do---it’s overwhelming
UA: But, I got to most of the important stuff
TH: The world hasn’t fallen apart

EB: It’s just a list of STUFF
SE: I’ll get to it
UE: I can handle the important stuff in the morning
UN: I can prioritize
CH: I can ask for easy solutions to pop in my head
CB: There is always going to be a list
UA: There are always going to be things that can’t get addressed in the same day
TH: I choose to focus on what I can do and let the reset go just for tonight

EB: It’s just a list of stuff
SE: Maybe solutions will show up in my dreams
UE: I choose to let the list go until tomorrow
UN: There is nothing I can do tonight anyway
CH: I deserve a restful night
CB: I deserve to sleep deeply and awaken refreshed
UA: Then I’ll have more energy to tackle my list
TH: I like that plan

Since we can think our way into anxiety we can use that will to TRY a different avenue.  Let’s borrow benefits and tap some stress out.

KC: Even though a part of me is feeling anxious and I don’t think I’ll be able to sleep I choose to know I’m safe right in this moment and can allow myself to relax
KC: Even though a part of me is on red alert I honor my feelings and choose to KNOW I am safe right in this moment
KC: Even though a part of me is skeptical I must admit that right in this moment I AM safe and I
give myself permission to acknowledge this

EB: This part of me that is on red alert
SE: It’s afraid
UE:  Yet, I admit I’m safe right this minute
UN: I give myself permission to relax in this moment
CH: There is nothing I can do about the past
CB: Not even about what happened today
UA: Yet, in this moment I’m safe
TH: I give myself permission to worry tomorrow if I want

EB: Right this moment I’m safe
SE: And I choose to be peaceful and calm
UE: I’m willing to release my worries just for tonight
UN: I am safe right this minute and I am worthy and deserving of a good night’s sleep
CH: Choosing to let go and drift away down a river or on a cloud
CB: Allowing my higher self to be on guard for me so I can relax
UA: Letting go in JUST this moment
TH: I’m safe and can let go and relax

EB: Releasing and Relaxing and knowing I am safe right now
SE: Allowing a gentle peace to envelope my soul and mind and body
UE: This peaceful calm
UN: Knowing I am safe right now
CH:  I’m not alone and I can rest and relax

KC: Even though I’m terrified I choose to replace the fear with feeling calm and confident

SE: It’s keeping me awake

UN: I’m afraid I’ll make a mistake

CB: What if I make a fool of myself
UA: All this fear
TH: It’s keeping me awake

EB: This fear is huge
SE: Letting the fear expand out into the universe
UE: Letting it get larger and larger
UN: Letting it expand until it disappears
CH: Letting spirit’s light melt and wash over me
CB: Cradling me in peace
UA: Choosing to feel peaceful and calm
TH: I’m open to feeling calm and confident

EB: Choosing to feel calm and confident in the morning
SE: Choosing to know a refreshed body will feel calm and confident
UE: Knowing all will be well if I do the best I can
UN: Letting the fears expand more and more

KC: Even though I can’t sleep because I didn’t finish my “to do” list and it’s making me crazy I acknowledge my thinking and love and accept myself
KC: Even though I’m not Superwoman and can’t finish everything on my list and I can’t stand unfinished stuff I acknowledge this and choose to love and accept myself anyway
KC: Even though I have all these things to do and tomorrow there will be even more things to do I acknowledge and honor my feelings and choose to love and accept myself anyway

EB: All this stress over my list
SE: I can’t get it all done
UE: I’ll have even more tomorrow
UN: I need to get it ALL done
CH: There isn’t enough time
CB: I can’t relax
UA: All this stress
TH: This long list of things to do

EB: There is always going to be a list
SE: Nothing on it can’t be handled in time
UE: I can handle it in time
UN: Maybe tomorrow I can prioritize my list
CH: Maybe I can get help with some things
CB: It’s just a list
UA: Maybe I don’t HAVE to do everything
TH: I deserve rest

EB: I deserve rest so I can see clearly what I need to do
SE: Asking my higher source to help me sleep so I can wake up refreshed
UE: With each deep breathe I allow the light of source to flow through me

KC: Even though a part of me feels I have to stay alert even in bed I choose to let my higher source stand guard so I can relax
KC: Even though I feel stuck and can’t relax I acknowledge this and want to sleep peacefully knowing I am safe

UE: It doesn’t feel safe to go to sleep
UN: I choose to turn my fears over to my higher source
CH: To let that power greater than me to stand guard
CB: It’s safe to go to sleep
UA: I can’t solve my problems tonight
TH: I can wait until tomorrow

EB: I wrote down what I need to do tomorrow
SE: The best thing I can do is rest tonight
UE: I choose to let go of these worries and drift off to sleep
UN: allowing my higher source to look after me as I sleep and to inspire me as I sleep
CH: To awaken refreshed and inspired
CB: Choosing to relax and quiet my mind
UA: knowing I am safe
TH: Letting my thoughts drift in and out and away

EB: Allowing the light of the divine to flow through my head
SE: Soothing me from head to toe
UE: Letting the light of the divine quiet my mind and body
UN: Letting my worries melt away
CH: Letting the light bathe over me and melt away all my thoughts
CB: Knowing I am safe in the light of spirit
