Those pesky holiday food cravings

Think of those foods that just keep calling your name.  Let’s borrow benefits and tap a layer of craving off.  Over the next few days we’ll look at how to begin to control those cravings.

KC: Even though I want those chocolate candies I want to make healthier choices
KC: Even though I want to make better choices---I can’t stop thinking of that chocolate
KC: Even though I can’t stop the craving---I can see why I might want it

EB: I love it
SE: I hate salads
UE: I hate eating healthy food
UN: Salads don’t fill you up like chocolate
CH: It’s not comforting like chocolate
CB: I feel deprived when I eat right
UA: It’s not fair
TH: I can never have what I want

EB: I’m an adult
SE: I can eat what I want
UE: Mother told me I was weak
UN: That I had no will power
CH: Sure enough I’m proving her right
CB: I like to please mommy
UA: Mommy is always right
TH: Mommy’s happy when she’s right

EB: I want to make mommy happy
SE: Oh my goodness
UE: I’m overeating to make her right
UN: Feel, tap, release
CH: I want to do what make me happy
CB: Not be a victim to old programing
UA: Allowing myself to unplug from the paradigm
TH: Checking in with my body to see if I want the chocolate after all

Sometimes we have to tap in the reality---to acknowledge the process.  Let’s borrow benefits and tap some charge off.

KC: Even though change doesn’t always feel easy---I acknowledge this
KC: Even though change is uncomfortable and I keep hearing all these annoying little
doubting messages in my brain---I acknowledge this and love and accept myself anyway
KC: Even though I often want to give up---I honor and acknowledge my feelings and choose to keep accepting myself and the process

EB: I’ve changed in other areas
SE: It was scary then and I got through it
UE: I can do it this time
UN: I’ve made mistakes
CH: I’ve been successful
CB: It’s life
UA: And this is a change I want
TH: I want to be successful in this new journey

EB: It’s important to me
SE: It may not feel like I’m in control
UE: But I have choices
UN: I can choose to not give up
CH: In the past I gave up
CB: I gave my power away
UA: I can do this slowly
TH: I can keep coming back to what makes ME happy

EB: I can review my options
SE: AND find a way to keep being of service in the way I KNOW I’m meant to
UE: I want this change to last
UN: I want to feel Free
CH: I want to feel Confident
CB: I want to feel Grateful
UA: I want to feel Abundant
TH: I want to feel these changes in the deepest part of me

Sometimes we find the annoying little voices telling us that we are a fraud that we can’t play and succeed in NEW energy and NEW ways.  Let’s borrow benefits and tap some charge off.

KC: Even though I’m doing the best I can to be true to myself I admit I feel like a fraud
KC: Even though there is this annoying voice in my head that says “you’re not perfect so you’re a fraud”---I acknowledge this and know its fear trying to keep me small
KC: Even though I keep hearing this annoying repeating message---I honor it and am open to shifting it

EB: I’m a fraud
SE: I’m not perfect
UE: I’m scared
UN: What if I fail
CH: All this time and effort
CB: But I want to keep changing
UA: I want to generate and create a magnificent future
TH: I honor my fear

EB: It is showing me where I’m holding resistance
SE: Thank you for sharing
UE: I need to you relax and trust the process
UN: I need a new voice that encourages me
CH: One that says “pause”
CB: Not to stop
UA: To pause and feel into my heart
TH: To acknowledge my fears

EB: To let them flow through my body
SE: To ask for help
UE: The old way is to give my power away
UN: The new way is to trust
CH: To ask for guidance from my guides
CB: It’s scary
UA: There will be times it looks like I’m failing
TH: I am open to showing up until I make it

Sometimes people drift out of our lives and that annoying voice tries to put us down.  Let’s borrow benefits and tap some charge off.

KC: Even though I don’t have anything new in common with some of my old friends---I acknowledge the pain of our drifting apart
KC: Even though it doesn’t feel the same not to have certain people in my life anymore---I honor
their past importance in my life and choose to move forward anyway
KC: Even though I have this annoying voice in my head berating me about being a dreadful
friend I acknowledge this and HAVE to be honest about what is best for all of us

EB: I always let others determine my worth
SE: If THEY made fun of something
UE: Or criticized something I went along with THEM
UN: Now I have to honor what is best for me and that hurts
CH: I feel dreadful
CB: But, I can’t deal with the criticism and judgment
UA: THEY have other friends that still like to play in that energy
TH: I don’t

EB: Since THEY don’t want to change and I do
SE: It’s okay
UE: This way I don’t resent them
UN: I just acknowledge where they are
CH: And where I am
CB: The highest and best good for all concerned
UA: It hurts
TH:  I honor and acknowledge the pain

EB: I honor and acknowledge all the times it worked on some level
SE: I honor and acknowledge my growth
UE: I honor and acknowledge my new path
UN: Thank you for having been in my life in the past
CH: I wish you well
CB: I love you
UA: Please forgive me
TH: I have to honor my path and yours

Sometimes we hear the criticisms of our peers in our ears.  Let’s borrow benefits and tap some charge off.

KC: Even though I want to move ahead in my life I keep hearing the critical voices of my friends and I admit I’m afraid
KC: Even though I want to be successful I’m afraid I won’t fit-in with my current circle of friends---I
acknowledge this and am open to shifting this
KC: Even though I think changing is too risky I’m open to seeing it differently

EB: I’m afraid
SE: My friends will talk behind my back
UE: I can just hear them making fun of me
UN: I won’t fit in
CH: They might even dump me
CB: I’ll be alone
UA: Who do I think I am
TH: They’ll think I’ll look down on them

EB: I need them
SE: I don’t want to be alone
UE: I don’t know how to defend my new positions
UN: I’m not strong enough
CH: I don’t want to change badly enough I guess
CB: I feel pathetic
UA: But maybe we’ll still have some things in common
TH: Maybe I’ll find new friends

EB: Maybe I can have two circles of friends
SE: It doesn’t have to be all or nothing
UE: If they make fun of me it’s just their fear showing
UN: I can smile and try to shift the subject
CH: I will find people and new groups to fit in with
CB: Life always changes
UA: It’s like going to a new school
TH: I can do this

CB: It may be outside my comfort zone; but I can be open to having two circles of friends

KC: Even though I’m growing in self-confidence that I am smart----I acknowledge my fear that others won’t like the new me
KC: Even though I’m still not smart in THEIR eyes---I want to focus on my vision and mission and
truth
KC: Even though they won’t think I can DO IT---I’m open to quieting this annoying voice that wants to shut me down

EB: I can hear THEM now
SE: YOU can’t do that
UE: You’re not smart enough
UN: What are you thinking
CH: Brrrrr, that makes me shiver
CB: It makes me uncomfortable
UA: How can I stand firm
TH: Wait---I’m not smart in all area

EB: I am passionate and smart in what I do
SE: I can focus on what I do
UE: If they don’t like it I can just say “thanks for sharing”
UN: Just notice that they still can’t see my brilliance
CH: Thank you for showing me that you are the one that is stuck
CB: I don’t want to dim my light
UA: I want to shine in MY corner of MY world
TH: I have what it takes in what I do

EB: People need what I do
SE: It makes them feel better about themselves
UE: I’m sorry annoying voice but it is time for you to change
UN: Thank you for helping me see my truth
CH: NOT theirs
CB: Mine
UA: That gives me courage
TH: That gives me hope

KC: Even though I heard often enough while a kid that I wasn’t smart enough---I’m open to changing that
KC: Even though I hear this voice in my heard believing the opinion of others that I’m not smart enough---I know I’m brilliant in certain areas
KC: Even though I believed others up until now---I’m open to changing this

EB: You’re not smart
SE: That’s what they all told me
UE: I believed them
UN: I certainly can prove it to you
CH: It’s what I’ve believed all these years
CB: I haven’t amounted to much
UA: Yet, I am good at what I do
TH: Maybe I’m not as dumb as a door-nail

EB: What if they are wrong
SE: What if I’m smart in my life’s purpose
UE: Smart in what is unique to me
UN: Smart in what matters to my mission in life
CH: Hey what if that became my new belief
CB: I’M SMART IN THE AREAS THAT MATTER TO MY MISSION AND PURPOSE IN LIFE
UA: Wow, that feels good
TH: That feels true

EB: What if I’m wrong
SE: What if I’m right
UE: I like the idea that I’m smart
UN: No one does what I do the way I do it
CH: That’s a fact
CB: Thanks for sharing old annoying voices
UA: Thank you for helping me KNOW that I AM SMART
TH: Thanks for healing and changing the old belief

“Who do you think you are---trying to buck the status quo?”  Let’s borrow benefits to resisting change.” 

KC: Even though this resistance to changing feels overwhelming to me---I trust I can handle it
KC: Even though all this changing is good---it feels stressful---I keep hearing all these old judgmental voices
KC: Even though I think this has to be hard – I acknowledge this and am open to proceeding

EB: I don’t know
SE: I still can feel the resistance
UE: I think it will be hard
UN: I don’t know---nothing seems to work
CH: I’ve tried before
CB: Maybe this time can be different
UA: I’d sure like that
TH: I can make a few changes at a time

EB: I can focus
SE: I can trust
UE: I can regroup and refocus
UN: I don’t give up
CH: Maybe I can do this
CB: Maybe it doesn’t have to be so hard
UA: Maybe I can think of it as an adventure
TH: Why not

EB: Thank you resistance for sharing--- now hit the road
SE: I don’t have time for you today
UE: I want to expand into the person I’m meant to be
UN: Not the person others want me to be
CH: So quiet down and focus
CB: Change can be easy one piece at a time
UA: What do I need to do first
TH: Now what’s next

Critical Voice

Sometimes the critical voice is a 3 or 4 year old who just never felt safe
and loved.  Let’s borrow benefits and acknowledge and tap some charge
off.

KC: Even though I have this 3 year old voice in my head---I acknowledge that I didn’t feel safe at that age and I honor and love myself and that small
child
KC: Even though that child is still a part of me the fact is I am safe
now
KC: Even though that little one needs love and security I can let her
know she is safe and I’ll take care of her.  I’m a loving and resourceful
adult

EB: I can help heal this little child in me
SE: I want her to know we made it
UE: That we are safe now
UN: That she doesn’t have to be afraid
CH: That I love her
CB: That I never gave up on her
UA: That I won’t leave her
TH: That I can keep US safe

EB: I can do that
SE: Each moment I can check in and ask if I’m safe
UE: One moment to the next
UN: Today there is a roof over our head
CH: Food to eat
CB: A warm place to sleep
UA: All our needs are met---this minute
TH: This minute

EB: Still safe
SE: I want her to know she’s safe
UE: I’m safe
UN: We’re safe
CH: When she gets frightened I can check in to see if we are safe
CB: Then I can assure her it’s okay
UA: She doesn’t have to feel afraid
TH: I don’t have to feel afraid

CB:  I’m safe and the critical voice can relax and know we are safe

Critical Voice

Once you get a sense of when and how the critical voice got started you can then ask it to be your ally.  Let’s borrow benefits and take off a layer or
two.

KC: Even though my critical voice just wants to keep me safe ---I’m open to asking it to help me in a different way
KC: Even though it’s used to being critical I’m open to the possibility that it now can help me
KC: Even though I know it was and is trying to help me---I acknowledge this and thank it and would love for it to change

EB: Thank you critical voice for trying to keep me safe
SE: I know you are trying to help me
UE: I know I’ve deferred to you in the past
UN: I never questioned you before
CH: But I’m on my own now
CB: I have to take chances
UA: I need you to support me
TH: I would love it if WE could find a different way to support me

EB: Your intention to keep me safe was and is great
SE: Now I need you to support me in a different role
UE: I really need you on my side
UN: A way that would empower us
CH: That would help us achieve more
CB: Not reckless
UA: But sensibly courageous
TH: See baby steps

EB: To remind me to pause and weigh my options
SE: To encourage me to proceed
UE: To not beat myself up if I fall
UN: But to learn from my mistakes
CH: To encourage me to try again
CB: That’s what I’d like
UA: Please stay on my side
TH: Please help me to pause, plan and act

CB:  I need you as an ally voice---not critical but supportive---thank you
